How many times have you sat there in ACT!, looking at the "Bill Gates" contact and wondered how many other "Microsoft" employees you have in your ACT! database?
You have to do Lookup->Company, type in "Microsoft", and then hit OK.
This month's freebee allows you to click a button in the button bar, and in the blink on an eye will lookup all the contacts at the same company as the current contact.
Unzip the file to a safe place (we suggest creating a Freebee folder) and then add a button to your toolbar, like this:
- in ACT, do Tools->Customize
- Select the "Commands" tab
- Click "New"
- Click "Browse", pick the "Lookup All Matching Company" program.
- Click Save.
- Select the "Toolbars" Tab.
- Click "Insert" to add this new command button on the Contact Window Toolbar.
- You can drag the new button where you want it.
- Click Save.
- Click Close.
- The button should now be in your toolbar.
Bonus: This same add-on will also match Last Name, State, ID/Status, etc. To set this up, in the "Command Line" of the Commands Tab, add the Contact Field ID after the .exe.
Example: "c:\freebee\lookup all matching company.exe 79"
This is now "lookup all matching last name". Other IDs:
|
City |
30 |
ID/Status |
34 |
| State |
31 |
Title |
46 |
You can get the Field IDs by running ACT's ACTDIAG.EXE and creating a Report.
